Cake & Crumb keeps your progress on your phone and doesn't ask you to create an account. We collect personal data when you contact us or sign up to test the game. Google collects some data for the game's adverts, its purchases, our analytics and Bakery news. We never sell personal data.

The game
Cake & Crumb: Cozy Bakery
Cake & Crumb keeps your bakery on your phone. Google collects some data for its adverts (Google AdMob), its purchases (Google Play), to show us how the game is played (Google Analytics for Firebase) and, if you turn it on, for Bakery news (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
- Adverts
- Google AdMob, with Google's consent form in the UK and EEA
- Purchases
- One, "Ad Free. Forever.", through Google Play
- Permissions
- Internet and network state (adverts, purchases, analytics and Bakery news), Advertising ID and Android's ad services (adverts and analytics), Google Play billing (purchases), Google Play install referrer (how you found the game), Notifications (Bakery news, only if you allow them), Run briefly in the background (delivering Bakery news), Vibrate (haptic feedback)
Your bakery and your settings are stored on your phone, in the game's own storage. Android's backup may copy them to your Google account if you've turned it on; that is Google's service, under your control in Android's settings. Uninstalling the game, or clearing its storage, deletes them.

Crash and performance reports

- Why
- To find and fix bugs.

- Our legitimate interest in keeping the game working.
- How long we keep it

Adverts
- What
- Google AdMob collects your advertising ID and app set ID, identifiers for any Google accounts signed in on your phone, your rough location (worked out from your IP address), details of your phone, the adverts you see and tap, and how well the game runs, such as how quickly it starts.
- Why
- To show adverts, measure how they perform and prevent fraud.
- Lawful basis
- In the UK and EEA, your consent, asked on Google's consent form when you first open the game. If you say no, you may still see adverts, but they aren't chosen for you personally. Elsewhere, and everywhere to prevent fraud, our legitimate interest in paying for the game with adverts.
- How long we keep it
- Google decides how long it keeps advertising data, under its own privacy policy.
Google explains what it does with this data in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
How the game is played
- What
- Google Analytics for Firebase records what happens as you play: for example finishing a day, making a cake, finding a recipe, buying a bakery upgrade, seeing an advert, taking one of Grandma's hints or sharing a cake. It also records when you first open the game, how long you play, when you update or uninstall it, what you buy and for how much, and whether a link or an advert brought you to the game. With these come a random ID for your copy of the game, your advertising ID (in the UK and EEA, only if you allow it on the consent form), your phone's make, model, Android version and language, and your rough location (country, region and city), worked out from your IP address. Google Analytics doesn't keep the IP address itself. It never gets your name, your email or anything you type.
- Why
- To see which parts of the game players enjoy and where they get stuck or stop playing, so we can make it better, and to see how the adverts and purchases are doing.
- Lawful basis
- In the UK and EEA, your consent, asked on Google's consent form when you first open the game. Nothing is sent unless you say yes. Elsewhere, our legitimate interest in improving the game.
- How long we keep it
- Google Analytics deletes the detailed records at most 14 months after you last play. Totals that can't identify anyone, such as how many cakes were made in a week, are kept longer.
Google explains what it does with this data in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Bakery news
- What
- If you turn on Bakery news, Firebase Cloud Messaging adds your phone to our news list. To deliver the news it gives your copy of the game a random ID and a token, and gets the game's version and your phone's make, model and Android version. None of this includes your name or email. Reminders the game sets up on your phone itself, such as when your regulars miss you, send nothing to anyone.
- Why
- To send you the news you asked for, such as a new season arriving.
- Lawful basis
- Your consent, given when you turn Bakery news on. Turn it off at any time in the game's Settings, or turn off the game's notifications in Android's settings.
- How long we keep it
- Your phone stays on the news list until you turn Bakery news off or uninstall the game. Firebase deletes a token that hasn't been used for 270 days.
Google explains what it does with this data in Privacy and Security in Firebase.
Who we share it with
We only share personal data with the companies that provide services we rely on, and only what they need. We never sell personal data. Apart from the adverts described above, we never share it for anyone else's marketing.
| Who | What for |
|---|---|
| Google Play (downloads, purchases, crash reports), Google AdMob and its consent form (adverts, with the advertising partners the consent form lists in the UK and EEA), Google Analytics for Firebase (how the game is played) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (Bakery news). | |
| Microsoft | Hosts our email, including messages to support. |
| Amazon Web Services | Hosts this website. |
We may also disclose personal data if the law requires it.
Transfers outside the UK
Google, Microsoft and Amazon Web Services may process personal data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK–US data bridge or the International Data Transfer Addendum.
Your choices about adverts and analytics
- Consent. In the UK and EEA, the game asks before any personalised advertising or analytics. Change your answer at any time from the game's Settings → Privacy options.
- Advertising ID. Reset or delete it in Android's Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- Bakery news. Turn it off in the game's Settings, or turn off the game's notifications in Android's settings.
- No adverts. Ad Free removes every advert for good, and Settings → Restore purchase brings it back on a new phone.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email us; we'll reply within one month. For data Google holds, you can also use your Google Account.
Analytics and Bakery news records carry a random ID, not your name or email, so we can't find yours from an email. How to delete your data explains how to start afresh.
Children
The game doesn't ask for personal information and has no way to contact other players. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. Cake & Crumb is for players aged 13 and over, and it only shows adverts rated suitable for all ages. If a child has emailed us, a parent or guardian can ask us to delete the message.
Keeping it safe
Support email is held in an access-controlled mailbox and only the people who handle support can read it. We keep personal data only as long as the periods above.
This website
This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other websites. Amazon CloudFront, which serves it, handles your IP address to deliver the pages; we don't keep access logs.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, for example when the game adds a new service, we'll update this policy before the change takes effect and change the date at the top.
Contact and complaints
Questions about this policy or your data: info@synergycloudsystems.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
